These pops are super easy and kid-friendly. And that’s going to be necessary for the next few years. Lily is still too young for these pops now, but I can’t wait for her to get big enough to start having more of an interest in food than strawberries, soft cheese, and pasta. Not that there’s anything wrong with those three things! Other than ice cream, I would rank those among the best foods on Earth. And the kitchen isn’t only good for simple foods: it is also full of fun toys to play with!
The nice thing about these marshmallow pops is that you can customize them for any holiday, any season, birthdays, etc. Just use different sprinkles and different types of chocolate. White chocolate melted and mixed with food coloring (I love AmeriColor) has endless opportunities. And these treats are super cheap and easy for the whole family to make. An added plus: you can eat all of the extra unused chocolate with a spoon. Not that I would. But you could.
12 popsicle or lollipop sticks
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
8 ounces white chocolate
sprinkles (or other crumbled toppings)
Put the sticks into marshmallows. Melt the semisweet chocolate using a double boiler (or a heat-safe bowl over a saucepan with a small amount of water in the bottom). Dip the marshmallow in the chocolate and roll it against the side of the bowl to get rid of excess. Immediately dip in sprinkles. Repeat with the white chocolate.
